Thislovely little sterling silver thimble has a thick band that\'s heavilyornamented with scrolls. Ithas a tiny Simons Bothers shield in the topand the size (5) on the band.The band is also marked \"Pat. Aug. 2,\'92\". It\'s 5/8\" high and has a12.75 mm diameter opening. It tests sterling silver but is not so marked

Thisthimble is shown on p. 84 (plate 6) of GayAnn Rogers\' book AmericanSilver Thimbles.It\'s in excellent condition, crisp and in round with noholes, dents, repairs or otherdamage. It has nomonogramming or personalization and is heavy and solid for its smallsize.
