Antique Silver Coffee Pot or Pitcher from the era of Russian Empire circa 1880 was custom made in Latvia,Riga as hallmark shows. The Pot is decorated with skillfully chased work in Rococo revival style with leaf wrapped spout,C-scroll handle and detailed flower bud finial. It\'s weight is 24 Troy ounces, 792g. Hallmark: in cartouche 84,city sign (Riga),silversmith\'s initials \"PT\" in Cyrillic. There is also silver standard mark 875 probably added later and the number of the pot. Riga\'s coat of arms is located in the center.The crown of the Swedish king is above it. In 1656 the city earned the right to include the crown in the coat of arms, as an expression of gratitude for the heroic defense of the city during the siege by the Russians. Later in 1788 after the city was incorporated into the Russian Empire following the Great Northern War, the double- headed eagle and the crown of the Russian Emperor was added to the coat of arms.
