Antique Stoneware: 4Gal. Crock w/ Paddletail Bird on Flowering Branch, ca.1885:
$371.50

An impressive 4Gal. Crock, clearly impressed: WHITE & WOOD, BINGHAMTON, N.Y. Charles White and George Wood used this mark 1883-1887; Charles later joined his father at the main Utica manufactory (N.A. White & Son). This piece features an extremely vivid Paddletail Bird on a Flowering Branch; a complex design using both Slip-Trailed and Brushed Cobalt. The decoration is artistically applied with superb use of shading and details (see close-ups). Excellent Albany Slip interior. There are a few areas where the glaze has flaked, mainly near the bottom; and a small chip on the base and left handle. No hairlines, cracks or repaired damage! This \"Binghamton Bird\" is big and bold; a fine example that will display quite prominently in any Antique Stoneware collection. Please see photos for further description and complete details. This 4Gal. weighs 13lbs! and measures approximately 12-1/4\"W x 11\"H overall. The base and inner rim diameters are 11-1/4\" and 9-3/4\", respectively. This NY Paddletail ships professionally packed with full insurance to the highest buyer. 10 Days, . Good Luck and be sure to check my other sales ending soon. Thanks.
