Antique Stoneware three gallon Crock made by the Fulper Brothers Pottery in Flemington around the turn of the century 1895-1910. Abraham Fulper and his five sons worked the pottery in Flemington, N.J. from around 1860 forward until after the turn of the century. Fulper, through the Civil War years, and well after, created the best known and most desireable stoneware examples from the Garden State.
This crock features a Bristol Glaze which looks and feels very thick in texture. Both shiney and durable the crock\'s exterior is beautiful. There is a distinct and clear, indigo, \"SINGING BLUEBIRD\" in cobalt featured on the face and an accent line incised surrounding it\'s shoulder. There are two nice sturdy lug handles on the sides and a an incised number \"3\" to reflect the size in gallon capacity.
There are two hairlines on this crock, one on the front and one on the rear. Please see provided pictures. There are no other condition issues to note. It is truly\"WOUNDED BUT WOW!\"
Dimensions are 10\" high by 11\" wide.
