This is a wonderful early stoneware whisky jug. It is a one gallon capacity and is stamped with a capital A on the side.

I got this from an antique collector friend who thought it was from the 1880\'s- 1910\'s. It appears to be salt glazed, has a wooden stopper which has shrunk a bit over time, and also has an air vent on the bottom which is stopped with cork.

Any information from collectors is welcome.

Jug measures 10.5\" high w/o stopper.
