There is a mark on the bottom and I know little about this piece, other than knowing that it is very old; mid 1800\'s, early Victorian. The detailing in the pattern is amazing for stoneware; I believe it is yelloware pottery because of the yellowish hues that show through the highlights under the brown glaze. I see about six tiny glaze nicks on the raised floral tips on the top of lid; through 10X magnification, I can see that only a couple that are a bit larger; you\'ll also see at the bottom of the lid rim - two chips, a couple of teeny fleabites; 1 teeny fleabite on inside rim of pitcher; and one other small nick on 1 bump on pitcher. You\'ll see the nicks on the tip of the spout and one other small one on side of same; other side of spout has manufacturing flaw. I find NO hairline cracks or major chips anywhere else. I\'ve had this on display for years and the variation in the glaze and embossed details are great. As I ALWAYS TRY TO mention ALL flaws that I can find, I don\'t find any that really detract from visual appeal. I don\'t see crazing in the glaze. It measures, 3 7/8\" tall (with lid in place) and just over 4 1/2\" from widest points at handle to end of spout. The gloss is shiny; I never cleaned it so you\'ll see very old dirt, esp around end of spout. This could be an early tea set toy; I\'ve seen other small ones that are oriental. If you would know anything more about this and would share info, it would be most appreciated - especially since I wonder if anyone will even look at it as many rarities seem to get lost on .
