This enchanting trunk has the original soft tones of blue and green that have gently aged over time and shows off the circular garlands of flowers that decorate the front. The trunk is painted with two red and white floral wreaths on the front - initials in one and the date 1818 in the other. It may have served as a traditional dowry or wedding gift. This large hand-crafted trunk has the original hardware, hand-wrought iron strap hinges and corner supports. There is ample storage inside with a small covered utility box to the left wall. A wax finish was used inside and out gently enhancing the painted finish. Please take a moment to enlarge the photos and examine the details up close.

We have shipped furniture nationally and internationally for 30 years and are experienced at handling antiques properly. Most of our furniture weighs over the 150 lb. limit or maximum dimensions that UPS or USPS allows. Due to these limitations and the necessity to properly handle our pieces, we use a freight shipping company with over 50 years of experience. Freight shipping is the safest and most affordable means to deliver coast to coast. If the item is smaller, we use UPS unless another carrier is specified.

Shipping Time-frame and pricing estimations. After payment is received, the shipment is scheduled. Freight shippers typically take 15 to 20 BUSINESS days to deliver after they pick up from our store (only 1 day a week). If you live on the East coast delivery will be closer to 20 business days.

International Shipping: We coordinate shipping all over the world for our clients. Please forward your complete shipping address and we will obtain at least 2 shipping quotes for you.
