This is an antique tiger maple wood tea caddy.

I believe it dates sometime from the mid 19th century.

It measures 4 1/2 inches tall (11.4 cm). It is 7 5/8 inches wide and 4 3/8 inches deep (19.4 cm, 11.1 cm).

It has initials on the front, which I believe are AF in script. There is a flower design carved on top.

The box has a number of issues. It is missing the two inside lids, and the pieces that would hold the lids in place. There are numerous chips going around many of the outer edges. The mirror is very foggy and worn and cracked down the center going horizontally. The bottom of the box originally had four wood strips going around the exterior, but only two are there now. There are scattered nicks and dings to the tiger maple wood exterior.

There is a sweet smell coming out of it, like a baby powder or something.

Even given its problems, it has a great feeling about it.

It weighs 1 lbs. 7 oz. (650 g).
