Antique Turkey Redborder applique Nasturtium flowers handkerchief textile.

Nasturtiums are some ofmy favorites, and I know from past research that they were in their heyday ofdesign in the 1920’s. However, with the Turkey Red border this could dateit into the late 1800’s. If antique textile experts have any differingopinions, please do email.

A lovely soft whitelinen background with a slim double dyed Turkey red border in the finelyfinished hand rolled hem.

The design in the corneris Nasturtium flowers and leaves. These orange, yellow and greenbotanical shaped pieces have been hand appliqued. A really specialantique handkerchief – so simple, but then so superbly detailed.

Size:approx. 9 by 9 ½ inches.

Condition: verygood – this lovely antique piece shows no rips, no tears, no stains – has beenstored lovingly – my ironing is not very good, so you will want to redothe ironing to show off this special piece.
