Antique Turkish Middle East Etched Tinned Copper Bowl Scalloped Edge Inner Plate:

Bowl has a scalloped edge with a hand etched design running around on the inside upper portion and around the flat where a open plate sits, there are two sets of double rings around the bowl.
The bowl looks like pewter, but from wear on the bottom I believe it to be copper coated with something, from looking up similar items I\'ve decided tin, it\'s a dull gray coating, the color of pewter or lead. I\'ve not polished the bowl, but the flash showed off some of what I think must have been a polishing compound, so I lightly washed that and retake some of the photos. It has a grated plate that sits in the step down, making me first think it was a brazier, but it doesn\'t appear the bowl has ever had anything burnt in it, maybe its an incense burner. The plate fits rather loosely on the lower edge, and I believe it is also copper with the tin coating. It has an uneven edge, is etched around the rim, on the sides, and again around the cut out pattern in the bottom. Color on top is a darker grey than the bowl, the bottom may not have been coated, but perhaps some of the lead came thru, more like globular spots of gray, although in places it seems the copper may be over the gray so I\'m still a bit up in the air on this piece.There is a mark on the bottom of the bowl, though originally I thought that a defect on close inspection it appears to be a maker mark of some kind, but hard to photograph. I don\'t know where or when this was made, the middle Eastern assumption is from style and similar items.Overall about 9-3/4\" diameter and 4-1/4\" high. The inner plate is a tad under 7\" diameter, with about a 1/2\" step down to the bottom.
The bowl and plate weigh in at 2 pounds 3 ounces together.
