Two Vintage EDGEWORTH Pipe Smoking Tobacco Tins

Edgeworth takes the prize for dramatic graphic design. All their tins certainly stand out with colorful two-tone blue combined with ornate Victorian lettering, edging,banners and borders. There are five different typestyles featured that all seem to somehow work in harmony on these tins. Both tins are Edgeworth ‘Sliced Pipe Tobacco,\' andare manufactured by Larus & Bro. Co. of Richmond, VA.Measurementsare 4-3/8” length x 3-1/4” width x 3-5/8 \" height and together they weigh8 ounces.These tins are so over-the-top and absolutely wonderful, even in the slightly shabby condition of one of the tins, while the other is nearly perfect. There are nodents, but there is a little bit of paint loss anda bit of surface rust on the one tin as can be seen in the photos. There is also rust on the inside of that same tin. Both lids are hinged.The colors are bright on both, but there is some adhesive residue where paper labels used to be.These are great tins for a collector or anyone who appreciates the historical and decorative qualities of antique advertising memorabilia.
