This is a truly awesome and uncommon antique wall mounted wood and cast iron hat and coat rack. The back of the wood mount is stamped:

This is the only Udell rack I have located that features 6 hooks. More common, though still quite rare, Udell racks have 4 or five hooks that point upward and feature one or two dowels running through them, whereas the top of the hooks on this rack point downward and do not hold a dowel. Two of the 6 hooks are painted gold. The gold paint appears to have been professionally applied long ago. One of the hooks is fitted tightly to the wood mount, the others are fitted loosely - I cannot determine if the item was manufactured that way, as the hooks appear identical and the wood at the attachment holes shows absolutely no wear. The hooks can carry a substantial amount of weight and I would be hesitant to add spacers to tighten the attachment points. The first and second hook from the left are slightly bent to the right. I have cleaned the wood with boiled linseed oil. Please look carefully at the photographs and please email me if you have any questions. I\'m happy to respond by phone if preferred.
The wood rack is 38\" long, 3.25\" tall and the hooks extend 4\" from the wood board, which is .5\" thick. The hooks are approximately 5.25\" tall.
