DESCRIPTION

Antique c. late 19th century pincushion pendant for a lady’s chatelaine. This piece is really wonderful. It is made of metal with a sterling silver plated finish. There are 2 pieces of metal sandwiching a purple velvet pincushion. The front is a detailed pansy motif. The back is an extraordinary design featuring a multitude of insects and other creepy-crawlies such as worms. There is a small bail on the front side so it can be hung as a pendant. All those bugs are just amazing--a fabulous addition to your antique sewing collection.
