Here is an antique lemon gold liner( a inner molding for a larger frame), with gesso and sand innermost decoration. This measures in total 16 3/8 x 22 1/4 ins., and the insert rabbet size is 12 1/8 x 18 1/8 ins. A 12 x 18 in piece of art would work in here. The frame has its original lemon gold finish, with a few touch -ups on the edges. It is in FAIR as is vintage condition with some chips, some sand has also chipped off on the innermost molding with time, and some unseen cracked wood and repairs from decades ago.On the back is the original frame label W.H. Smith, which appears to have been in England. It is very sturdy , and would be perfect for your antique print, oil painting or mirror.I would date this to the 1850-60s time period.
