This sale is for an AntiqueVintage Victorian circa 1900 Wallpaper Fragment that appears to be French inorigin or French turn of the century influence.It has a very hand painted look and feel to it. Characteristic of the timeframe, it is notpasted & created out of the “paper” of the day. There was special treatment added to thispaper as it appears to have some sort of matte sheen that was applied to itwhich I don’t think was too common at the time.The repeat pattern is the focal point of The Classic Urn Design of Glorious Triple Toned ShabbyPink, Red & Cream Roses with creamy ivory cartouches within diamondpatterns offset with pea green and sage colored leaves. It is just stunning & although vintagewallpapers are listed on – it is very rare to find authentic antiquewallpaper of this era listed. The “fragment”is 7’ long by 19 ½” wide. Would look lovely framed behind glass or perhaps usedto cover wallpaper or hat boxes.
