Antique Victorian 12K Gold Hand & Flower Bouquet Carved Shell Cameo Brooch c1847:

Youare offerding on an antique carved shell cameo that features anextended arm & hand holding a bouquet of flowers and measuringapprox. 1 5/8” x 1 3/8” (excess pin length not included). I haveadded a coin in one picture so you can gauge the size. The shellshows fine internal vertical lines (see pictures) but the cameo issecure in the setting with no movement and the shell appears to be stable. The bezel setting is unmarked but tests to be 12K Gold. The top side of the bezel is engraved with 3 initials (lookslike ELB) and the date “May 20, 1847”. In the area of theengraving there is a gap in the metal that appears to be damage orwear from use & age, which is not surprising seeing as this cameois almost 170 years old. The pinback & c clasp are in goodworking order, and I consider this lovely antique cameo brooch to bein good- used condition.

Thisis a used vintage item that may need additional cleaning orpolishing.
