This piece is unique for the quality of its construction, its very full size and for the fact that the micromosaic is raised. The style to have the micro mosaic raised rather than flush with the surface gives the bouquet a 2-dimensional effect which is subtle but nice design detail. There is an entire flower missing to the design which you can see clearly in the fourth photo. There are no other tesserae missing. There is a significant chip to the back of the Onyx which you can clearly see. There are no other chips or surface wear to the Onyx - it is very fresh and gleaming. The gold frame/setting is extremely fresh looking without any discoloration or dents or misshapen components. Overall this is a finely made and substantial, 14k gold micromosaic pendant / brooch, that was made in Italy during the Victorian era and is in good condition.
