Fine Victorian 18ct Gold Sapphire & Diamond Marquise Shaped Ring c1895UK Ring Size \'S\', or US Ring Size \'9 1/4\'
A stunning Victorian 18ct Gold Marquise Shaped Ring dating to c1895, which is set with a central column of three graduated Sapphires surrounded by Melee Diamonds(please study the detailed close-up photographs provided, which form an integral part of the ring\'s description).
As you would expect this fine quality ring, which weighs 3.6 grams, is stamped with the maker\'s mark \'R.N\' and a full British Hallmark inside the shank confirming that it is made from solid 18ct Gold & that it was assayed in Chester. Unfortunately the date letter has worn and is indistinct but the ring undoubtedly dates to the late 19th Century circa 1895.
This superb ring is in great condition as shown; commensurate with age when viewed through a loupe there is wear to the surface of two of the Sapphires, but this isn\'t visible to the naked eye & more mentioning for descriptivecompleteness. Itis sized as a UK Ring Size \'S\', which equates to a US Ring Size \'9 1/4\'; as with almost all antique rings the band is slightly ovalized i.eit is not perfectly round and it measures slightly differently on the gaugedepending on how it is positioned, however this will not affect the ring whenworn.
In summary, this is astunning Victorian 18ct Gold Marquise Shaped Ring dating to c1895, which is set with a central column of three graduated Sapphires surrounded by Melee Diamonds- it is quite simply sublime.
