An exceptionally fine quality mid-Victorian 9ct GoldRibbon Drop Brooch dating to c1865, which is set with foiled Almandine Garnets & Chrysoberyl gemsto create a truly stunning Brooch(please see the detailed close-up photographs provided, which form anintegral part of the item\'s description).

This wonderful Brooch, which weighs 13.4 grams, measures approx\' 6.7cms long (including the Drop) by approx\' 5.0cms wide. It has been crafted as a gem set \'Ribbon & Bow\' with chased foliate scroll detail suspending a similar drop, which could be detached & fitted with a bale to form a Pendant if so desired.Typical of the period this fine quality Brooch is unmarked, but it is guaranteed to have been crafted from solid Gold (tests at 9ct) and then completed with a \'High Carat Fire Gilt Finish\'.

Overall the condition of the Brooch is superb, as shown, with only light wear to the surfaces commensurate with age. It has a glazed locket compartment on the reverse side that still contain a hairwork memento.
