Antique Victorian/Edwardian Small Saphiret Brooch WITH 17 Saphiret stones...measures 20mm across....Saphiret is an early glasswas made during the mid to late 1800s, mainly in Bohemia, which is now the Czech Republic. The glass was made by adding real gold tosapphirecolored glass....Viola!!! The result is the magical color you see in Saphiret..... It is no longer made as Gold got to be too expensive....Now....It is very rare and collectable!
