This is an Antique Victorian English Green Glass Apothecary Poison Bottle / Vialin theOriginalMetal Case.

At the time of the original listing, we are in the process of listing a large number of antique and vintage items purchased in England. These items are an eclectic mix including gold and sterling jewelry, and many unique, and in some cases, one of a kind items, in wood, brass, and iron, and other materials as well.

Ithinkthe bottle held some type of topical medication or preparation, that would be poisonous if taken internally. The side of the bottle is molded \"NOT TO BE TAKEN\". The bottom is marked with the capacity, \"1 OZ\". The bottle is 3 1/2\" tall with a 1 1/4\" diagonal hexagonal base.

As found, the bottledoes not have the stopper and it is offered as found in that regard.

The case is made from non-ferrous metal, possibly nickel plated brass or similar. Itis about4 1/8\" tall with a1 1/2\" bottom diameter. The lower section has three metal pins, equally spaced at 120 degree increments around the circumference, that make with three slots on the lid, to allow the lid to lock securely into place with a fractional clockwise turn.

Condition

Bottle

As found, the bottle as a 1/4\" chip at a bottom corner. There is a crack mark across the lettering that I assume occurred as a result of the chip. The crack and chip can be seen from two different angles, circled in blue.

Case

The case is in very good condition with the exception of a tiny dent at the edge of the rounded top. There is some variation in the patina.
