This Victorian Antique Hand Blown 8\"Glass Dome Display with Wood Base just arrived from a family estate. This is the original dome for this base and has a perfect fit. Circa 1880, this piece is in excellent condition for age.
Dome measures 8\" tall with a 6 7/8\" diameter. Glass is a thick 1/4\", heavy, a smooth pontil on top (photo), wavy with slight imperfections such as minor scratches, rough edges or bubbles. No chips or cracks.
Wooden base has a 9\" diameter anda heavy dark patina. Inside dome, the wood has been partially painted with shellac (?). No chips or cracks noted on base. Hole in middle fits original 4 1/2\" metal stand for a doll. It is removable.
