For your consideration we are offering this antique fireplace hearth accessory from the Victorian era. Featured is a coal hod or ash scuttle bin made of heavy tinwith four cast iron feet. The brass knob door has decorative brass hinges with brass carry handle. Back of coal hod has a bracket for securing the 13\" solid brass shovel. It still retains the handled tin ash scuttle bin inside which is removable for dumping ashes. No holes in the bin. Unit measures 12\" H. x 10\" W. x 15\" deep. Good condition. The exterior was repainted black at one time to cover and retard the surface corrosion spots starting to develop. The brass hardware shows a nice unpolished patina. A decorative andfunctional antiquehearth accessory. Satisfaction guaranteed.
