This quilt is astonishing with it\'s level of needlework and graphic impact. I\'ve never seen one with such a phenomenal pictorial. This is from approximately the late 1800\'s. Threads of every hue were used to incorporate names, flowers and beautiful stitching to connect each piece. Flowers, to name a few, are Bleeding Heart, Roses of various kinds, Primroses, Daisies and Wildflowers. Fabrics appears to be mostly cotton. The backing was added in the early 1970\'s and it\'s a navy cotton with an ivory design. It was made by a family of women who were from the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia.
Overall Condition is very good considering it\'s age. Some places are threadbare. I could provide a provenance from the owner if necessary.
