This is a beautiful antique Victorian late 19th century ornate gold frame.

I would estimate it dates circa 1880s or 1890s.

Overall it measures 13 1/2 inches x 15 1/2 inches (34.3 cm x 39.4 cm). The back opening size measures 8 1/8 inches x 10 1/8 inches (20.6 cm x 25.7 cm). The molding width measures 3 inches (7.6 cm).

The frame is made of wood. It is covered in decorative applied composition and gold paint.

The frame is covered in floral and leaf decoration, giving it a lovely Aesthetic Movement era feeling.

It has one major issue. On the bottom short piece of molding, it looks like someone darkened the whole center section of it. I can\'t quite figure out why they did this, as the decoration is fully intact and not in need of repair. There is a little more of that darker color in the top left section, but it\'s not really noticeable. There is scattered nicking and light wear going around the solid gold area of the inner part of the frame. There is chipping in the each of the corners and some other scattered nicks and chips. Overall though, it\'s in very good condition.

It has its original wavy and bubbled glass, along with its wood backing.

It weighs 5 lbs. 2 oz. (2.322 kg).

It has what I always look for in frames, that wonderful old world look!
