Immaculate condition antique true Victorian rare 15ct yellow gold pendant with a large faceted amethyst surrounded by lustrous seed pearls, on a 14kt yellow gold chain, found at an estate sale. The hard-to-find 15 carat gold is true Victoria era, dating to no later than 1932 when this rich yellow gold was no longer made in England. The perfectly-cut faceted amethyst measures 20mm x 14mm, cut to show off the deep purple color. A textured bezel adds interest, and then the row of tiny lustrous seed pearls are accentuated with an individually-fashioned decorative bezel. The back is wide and smooth gold, hallmarked 15ct for solid gold. The complete pendant measures 1 inch tall x 3/4 inch across. The stunning pendant hangs on a simple and elegant 14 3/4 inch long 14k gold chain, hallmarked on the clasp. The chain and pendant together weigh8 grams. No damage at all. Unknown exact age and origin, as it was purchased at an estate sale.
