Make a statement with these Victorian Revival earrings fromthe 1940s. The delicate castingsimulating Etruscan style filigree serves as a beautiful framework for the clusterof sapphires. The deep blue of thestones acts as a counterpoint to the yellow gold, adding a depth a richness tothe yellow gold. The earrings arearticulated just below the top section, which gives them an alluring movementwhen worn.

The earrings seem to have an indistinct mark on the back,which I am unable to make out. They havebeen tested to be 14 karat however. Theearring backs are marked 14K with a stylized S shape. The S may designate that these are gold oversterling, but the stylized nature of the font makes it appear to be a maker’smark rather than indicating metal content.

The earrings measure 1 ½” in length and 5/8” wide. They are in excellent condition for theirage, with no damage that I can find and only minor wear. The sapphires appear to be relatively lowquality, there are some surface flaws visible under magnification, though theydo not detract from the appearance of the earrings. The pair weighs 6.63 grams.
