This necklace is unique for its full size, the detailed style of the chain and the Aesthetic period design to the locket. The chain has wide links but they are also fairly flat and lay flush along your neck when worn. The locket is slightly puffy at 3/8”thick at its thickest point. There is one very shallow and small dimple at the front of the locket and there is a little bit deeper dent at the back of the locket. There is only a very modest amount of surface wear to the locket. The front of the locket has a very detailed scenic bird design. The locket opens smoothly to reveal both original photo frames and glass inserts. There are no signs of solder or repair and the locket has a bright patina that shows off all the hand etched detail. Overall this is a striking and well made, sterling silver bookchain locket, that is from the Victorian era and is in Excellent condition.
