Very Fine Piano Key Frame

Saint Cecilia is known as the patroness of musicians. It is written that as the musicians played at her wedding she \"sang in her heart to the Lord\". Her feast day is celebrated in the Catholic Church.

She is said to have been beheaded with a sword. An early Roman Christian church, Santa Cecilia, was founded in the fourth century in the Trastevere section of Rome, reputedly on the site of the house in which she lived. A number of musical compositions are dedicated to her, and her feast day, November 22, became the occasion of for concerts and musical festivals.

This is an oil portrait covered in glass, with a bronze bezel. The portrait is signed M. Dolci. There is an aged and worn paper backing originally from a book. The very finepiano key frame good condition for age with some age cracks, as shown. There is an attachedbronze hanger. The frame is4 1/2inches by 41/4 inches with theportrait image at 21/4 inches.
