Description:

This belt buckle was a rather unusual find. We were moving some old trunks and saw thatone had a hidden compartment/false bottom.This was one of a few things that we found there. The buckle is made of brass and appears todepict either a doe or lama against an ornate background. It looks like there used to be a gem or stonein the eye, and I suppose one could be installed again.

I took it to a local antique dealer and his opinion was thatthe buckle was Victorian era. It doesseem very old, but I cannot truly verify the age of it. If you have any further questions please feelfree to send me a message and I will happily answer your inquiries. Thank you!
