Beautiful and rare antique victorian red/cranberry vaseline opalescent optic glass bud vase. Artistically hand blown, this unique piece has a ruffled drape design for its edges, and a tapered bulbous shaped body with an optic panel decor pattern. The opalescent fade off color on the ruffled drape edges consist of a cranberry red color on the outer edges and transforming to a light pink then white. On the bottom of the vase you can see the snapped pontil from being hand blown.Carrying both antiquity and elegance, this vase deserves to go to a home where it will always be appreciated and admired.
When put under black light this piece glows a vibrant fluorescent green(see pic). This is truly a gorgeous must have
GREATCONDITION- no cracks, repairs, or major signs of ware. There is a very microscopic fleabite near one of the ruffled edges(See pic). It is so small my camera had a hard time picking it up. There are small manufactured black flecks on top of the rim in some areas and there is a air bubble in the glass towards the base.
