A beautiful Wilcox Meriden Connecticut silver plate napkin ring with seated, winged cherubs and a floral pattern to the scalloped edges and base. Four bun feet. Very well modelled with high craftmanship as you would expect of this maker.Dates to 1850-1899.Quadruple plated.Measures approx 4 x 2.5 x 2 inches ( 10 x 6 x 5 cm).Marked as follows. \"QUADRUPLE PLATE MERIDEN CONN.\" , \"WILCOX SILVER PLATE CO.\" \" 01536\". It also has a cross hammers trademark.In good antique condition. Has a patina of normal usage with some very faint superficial scratches and some normal display wear to the bottom of the feet. Some darkening to the patterned and sculptured surfaces and around the feet. I have chosen not to clean this off as I think it adds to the character of the piece. The buyer may wish to polish the item up.Slight blemish to the inside of the ring in the form several tiny paralell marks. I have photographed this as accurately as I can. (photo 7). This is only visible if you pick the piece up, turn it upside down and look inside the ring.There is a very slight distortion to base. This is not visible on display and can only be seen by turning the piece upside down and turning it to reflect the light.Thanks for looking. Please check out my other items.
