I believe this 7 1/2\" long rolling pin is an antique grain painter\'s tool used to create wood grain patterns on furniture and molding. It has two mahogany (?) handles that are screwed in to an inner cylinder that has a rubber ( I think ) outer surface with the grain pattern. The roller portion with the grain pattern measures 5\" long x 1 1/4\" wide. Grain painting was popular during Victorian times so my guess is that this dates to that era. There are no maker\'s marks.
