This is a beautiful dress with stunning ribbon work; I am used to seeing ribbon work off the dress, but to see it in place on the garment is just amazing.
The dress is fashioned of I believe a Guipure lace, and has a whole theme of ribbon work rosebuds sewn from the waistline up the bodice and sleeves. The waist of this dress has larger ribbon work flowers of pink and black, with the back showing 2 black rosettes. The back has a hook and eye closure and the back of the waist sash needs to have hook and eyes sewn on.Condition is fair to good to age; The lace dress is strong and wearable. Of note there was most likely a yoke with a high collar fashioned of the remains g bits of salmon pink silk; and there were most likely long sleeves below the black sleeves of the same salmon silk. It would also be my guess there may have been a salmon silk underskirt which backed up the front lace panel and the open lace train where you would see it... although there is no silk left to substantiate this, it was probably shattered and removed. Very nice that there is remaining some of the original silk so that you may be able to match and restore. There are some missing hook and eyes; The lace train does have about a dozen or so holes and disconnects to the lace; some appear large; others are not.
