The pinned movement with unique spring setup suggest that this is probably a mid 1800\'s Vienna. This early Vienna Regulator displays 19th century Germanycraftsmanship at its best. Can not find another one like it or even close.

This veneered Vienna regulator wall clock was mostlylikely manufactured in Germany or Austria sometime in the Mid to late 19th century. It has aserial number 89491 stamped into both plates of the movement & 8*4*1 on theverge rod. The clock has a running duration of 8 days and is in excellentoriginal working condition. The movement runs very quietly and at large bobs swings are very compact, moving less than 1\" side to side. This is a Prince of a clock and he seems to get by without working very hard,

The slim and elegant case is veneered in a particularly wellfigured walnut, the grains of which have been matched with great skill andcare. The finish to the grained wood and ebony trim seem all origin and is wellpreserved will some minor loss of veneer on the lower left front and present abeautiful contrast. The pillars are exceedingly ornate with unique, freestanding waves at each side of the dial. The columns applied moldings and the finialsare all ebonized contrasting well with the walnut veneer. The finials are alloriginal to the clock.

The movement, although unsigned is of the highest quality havingmaintaining power and dead beat escapement for accurate time keeping. This classic19th century pinned movement is original to the case and runningreliably and keeping excellent time and cleanly striking the time and halfhours.

The white porcelain dial has Roman numerals and is in excellentshape. The enamel beat plaque at the bottom of the case also has nodamage. The pulleys are in good order.The pendulum is all bright and good save one small ding, the weight canistersdo have some dents. The pierced steel hands are of typical Viennese style andin good condition.

As can be seen from the photographs, although well over 100years old, this clock is in generally beautiful condition.
