The History

This ring comes from the Art Deco Era! The Art Deco Era is famous for being the \"Gatsby\" or \"Roaring Twenties\" Era. A lot of gorgeous and timeless designs in jewelry came out of this period.

During the Art Deco period jewelers would often make these gorgeous pieces by hand and custom order which would take weeks to craft!

Amethyst has been set in religious jewelry and royal crown jewels for ages. It was once considered equal in value to ruby, emerald, and sapphire. Amethyst has even adorned the fingers of bishops as well as the coronation regalia of British royalty.

Seed pearls occur naturally and were used as a decorative border, as tiny accents in small patterns, or in larger clusters woven together to make up an entire piece of jewelry. They were imported from India and China, and carried a hefty price tag due to this. Seed Pearl jewelry was used often for special occasions such as weddings, Mary Todd Lincoln received a seed pearl parure for Lincoln\'s inauguration.

Filigree metal working has been around for thousands of years, however was perfected by the Phoenicians and Etruscan civilizations. It involves stamping out a design in your metal and hand bending and twirling until your design in formed, it is considered one of the most difficult metal working processes.

The Piece

The ring includes an Amethyst Glass center piece with seed pearl accents! The Amethyst is cut into an oval shape and features a carved cameo over the top of it. The Amethyst is a deep purple color with solid color saturation.

The cameo depicts a beautiful, ancient Grecian woman. The woman is detailed with finer features of her face and flowing hair.

The seed pearls in this piece are rounded and showcase a smooth polished surface. The pearls include their signature white color with a solid amount of luster that compliments the ring perfectly.

The design of this ring includes classic Art Deco Era craftsmanship and is made out of solid yellow gold! The design includes an intricate filigree design along the base of the ring where there are thin lines of gold. There are also rope twist designs and claw like prong settings that hold the Amethyst glass cameo in place.

The ring measures in at 1 and 1/4\" long by 1\" wide by 1/2\" thick.
