Metal Type: Tested - 22k Yellow Gold for the band around hanging Jade Discs plus the gold in Center of the hanging jade discs and the two gold links that make up the chain that the discs hang from.

Tested 10K gold for the round part of the earing that contains the little green jade bead and the hinged earring wires.

Main Stone Measurements/Color: The jadeite of the hanging discs features a semi-translucent applegreen hue.

Stone Treatment: The stones appear to be untreated, but Iare not certified gemologists. This was purchased in Shanghi China in the1930\'s by grandmother and it has been in our family all this time. I believe it is untreated.

Item Measurements: The earrings measure about 2\" long from the top of the little gold shield that holds the jade bead to the bottom of the hanging Jade disc. The Green Apple Jade Discs are about 1 & 1/16 inches in Diameter.

These earrings were handmade during theArt Deco era. During the Art Deco era, Chinese craftsmenmade some of the most intricate and finely detailed crafts in the world,including jewelry. Exotic styles of the orient were becoming popular among theelite and being exported from China. These particular earrings were handcraftedout of yellow gold and the finest Jade. Each hanging Green Apple Jadeite disc features a beautiful semi-translucent apple green glow with whitestriations, creating a gorgeous color pattern.

The History

These Earrings were owned by my Grandmother who was born in1890. She acquired the piece while living in Shanghai China. She brought this Bracelet with her when she moved to the USA in 1945 just after WW2 ended. She then lived in Chicago until her death at 90 years of age in 1980.This one of her most loved and most prized piece of Jewelry she owned along with a closely matching gold and Green Apple Jade Bracelet that pairs well with theearrings.
