A piece of local history--this used antique school desk with fold down front seat was made in the early 1900\'s. My husband purchased it from Assumption School in Ansonia, Connecticut, over 35 years ago. Solid wood desk top and seat with ornate cast iron legs. It has a groove for pencils, a hold for the ink well, and a shelf under the desktop to store books and papers. The desk shows normal wear and tear from my children and the 100s of others who have learned their ABCs throughout the years--scratches, dings, marks, and my daughter\'s name \"engraved\" with a sharp object (argh--but not very big)--but overall in very good condition. A desk your child or grandchild can use from elementary school through college or just a beautiful conversation piece.

Approx. measurements 31\"H, desk surface 23 1/2\" x 16 1/2\". Seat: 24\" long x 12\" wide. Manufactured and stamped: O.D. Case & Company, Hartford, CT. Patented June 10, 1879. Pick up in Shelton, Connecticut.
