The Piece
The Tourmaline in this beautiful statue is completely hand carved and un-treated in color. The body of the statue is a beautiful, semi-translucent green color with a natural tan matrix visible throughout. The lid is a translucent, vivid purple. The lid would have been created from a different cut of tourmaline than the body; this was done on purpose to create the color contrast, which is break-taking.
The carving depicts the 3D nature scene. The design includes two stacked, circular shapes for the main motif, then features a gorgeous, high-relief vine branching into four flowers. The lid of the vase showcases two large, carved leaf accents.

The statue itself measures just over 4.75\" tall by 2.75\" wide. This statue comes with a beautifully carved teak wood-stand that would have been hand-carved specifically to fit the tourmaline vase. The stand adds an additional 1\" to the height. The piece weighs a total of 602.1 grams.
