Stunning pair of early French lamp shades that were part of my grandmas antique collection they came from a large chateau’s private chapel many years ago and they are amongst the items that I now reluctantly am disposing of,they are very unusual they have tassels round the bottom and a top tassel with two others hanging,the tassels appear to be either made from a very light weight wood or even plaster and then painted gold on top,the gold is rubbed and worn and one set of tassels is darker in colour,there is one tassel round the bottom missing and the top tassels need reattached,also the braid needs reglued and the lining has a couple of small splits but not noticed from the outside,and the usual age related marks but this just adds to their charm.please examine all the pictures to satisfy yourself and ask if you require any more information as I am always happy to help.x I guarantee that this is a genuine period item in Untouched condition.
