Antique/Vintage Tall Standing Metal Match Stick & Candle Snuffer Holder. Unsure of original use, possibly made for or from a church pray candle altar. Made of different types of metal, with a cast iron base, hammered copper match holder, bronze/brass snuffer holder bracket/arm. Front of match container has a decorative cross shaped piece. Measures a total of 14 1/8\" tall to top bracket arm, 10 1/4\" to top rim of match container. Base is heavy in weight for support and measures 4 3/8\" wide, 3 1/8\" front to back. Base is 2 7/8\" tall which goes 1 3/4\" into bottom section of match contain. Match container is 7 1/2\" deep from inside bottom to rim, 3\" wide, 1 3/4\"front to back (container section on outside measures 9 1/4\" tall). Overall in very good condition, with some light wear from use and age. Match striking strips on sides are not original, and look to be glued to sides (I remember as a kid in church, another candle would be used to light the match or stick). No Match Sticks or Candle Snuffer included. Unsure of origin and exact age. Bottom is marked- Patent No. 5457-1910. Unsure if \'1910\' is the year or part of number, but would estimate the age around early 20th century. Please see photos for details.
