Here is another antique from Mike\'s vast collection! Another gift to me to make a little money with!
He bought it in Kouts Indiana in the late 1980s when he lived in Valparaiso Indiana, 15 miles north of Kouts. He moved to the Chicago area in 1990. He bought a lot of stuff from that area apparently, although most of his collection comes from far-away places during his travels for demolition work. This piece is completely UNUSED, in fact it has never even been unfolded to assemble!! Mike figures it came from a movie theatre somewhere in that area, and was probably just lost inventory. They were all closing back in those days when General Cinema invaded the area in the early 80s. He vividly remembers the single-arena movie house in Valparaiso! He actually worked on the demolition in about 1981! Sadly, ending up as a vacant lot with a drive-up ATM kiosk in the middle!!! He bought and shipped bricks from the building into the Chicago Commons market back then!!
Nice article! Dated 1918 and 1930 as copyrighted by American Pop Corn. Who wants to bet Dillinger once held a box just like this one on the night he died at the movies!!!
