The History

This beautiful ring was made during the Victorian Period! The Victorian Period is famous for its very rare & elegant hard to find designs! Queen Victoria was the ruling monarch for this time period (1837-1901) hence the name (Victorian).

The chasing technique is a very difficult silversmith process when the artist uses a nail like tool and hammer to hand etch patterns within the metal work. This process was very difficult and only the best jewelers were trained in the process.

English Gold and Silver hallmarking is some of the most advanced hallmarking in the world. For hundreds of years the English have used a system of hallmarking for Precious Metal Items. The Hallmarks usually include a symbol for a hallmarking office, Exp: Birmingham, a lowercase or capital letter that corresponds to a specific year in the hallmarking catalog, a parts per thousand purity number, or your typical 9k, 14, 15, 18, numbers for purity of gold.

The ring is hallmarked with the Sheffield crown and a date mark that lets us know it was made in 1877!

This ring was bought from an English Estate and then brought to the U.S.!

The ring includes classic Victorian Era craftsmanship throughout and is made out of beautiful 18k Yellow Gold!

The design includesgorgeous floral chased designs along the entire surface of the lovely yellow gold band! The designs are beautifully detailed and give this ring a unique style.

The ring measures in at 7.5 mm wide and is in great condition.
