The History

This beautiful piece was made during the Victorian Period! The Victorian Period is famous for its very rare & elegant hard to find designs! Queen Victoria was the ruling monarch for this time period (1837-1901) hence the name (Victorian)

Repoussébegan as an ancient metal working technique, involving malleable silver firstformed with a specially created three-dimensional mold and then further refinedby hammering from the reverse side and adding detail to the front. The finished work was intricate, withgrooves, indentation and channeling. It was then carefully polished as aneye-catching treasure.

Bohemian Garnets have been mined in the Bohemian Hillsof Czechoslovakia since the 16th century. Thesegarnets reached their height of popularity in jewelry of the Victorianera to the Art Deco Era\'s. Bohemian Garnet is widely coveted due to its gorgeousred hues and due to the fact that this Garnet has been depleted and no knownmines exist any longer.

The chasing technique is a very difficult silversmith process when the artist uses a nail like tool and hammer to hand etch patterns within the metal work. This process was very difficult and only the best jewelers were trained in the process.

The piece includes an oak leaf hallmark which lets us know it is of Dutch make!

The Piece

The necklace includes hand faceted and cut natural Bohemian Garnet stones throughout three different strands in the necklace. The color of the garnet\'s are a beautiful and gorgeous deep red hue with a stunning clarity that is absolutely mesmerizing to look into!

The gem stones are beautifully strung on three gorgeous white strings that support all of the gem stones perfectly. The necklace measures in at 19\" long and is in great condition.

The clasp is made of solid 14k yellow gold and is completely handmade with a beautiful repousse style design! The design also includes beautiful chased details over the top that give it a stunning, and elegant style!
