After 40 years of collecting it is time again to try to downsize by selling off some of my collections. I sold a lot of things a few years back and I now have decided to sell off more. As a buyer and as a seller I have over 2,000 100% positive responses. Once you stop selling takes away your seller response but you should be able to check it out by looking at my response as a seller. This sale is for an antique vintage feed sack? (I am not sure if this is feedsack or not. The fabric seems a little finer than feedsacks) Postage Stamp quilt that is all hand-done. It shows very little use andIt is even prettier than my photos. The colors are brighter and not so pastel. Itcame from the estate of a 90 year old woman whodied more than 20 years ago.It was made by her motherwhowas a prize winner at a quilt show in the 30\'s or 40\'s.There was a note attached to that quilt giving the name of the daughter who was Arris Coon. I sold that quilt about a month ago and the new owner just loved it. This one is Gorgeous!!! There are rows of the same fabric going all around the quilt. It starts out with pointed edges in two different shades of purple, thendifferent rows of floral combinations and rows of plain colors. There are no two rows alike. The stitching on this quilt is incredible. It is so fine and straight. The rows are straight even though it doesn\'t look quite like it in some of the pictures because it was laying on the grass . The edges are all handstitched by what I think is calledthe whip stitch. The back is done in a soft, fine, luxurious pink cotton that is darker than the photos. It is like baby pink.I cannot imagine how many hours it took tocomplete. The quilt is in Excellent condition and has no wear. There are 3 small areas that have a stain on the back and one long fold area that has discolored with age.I inquired at a couple ofquilting shops as to how to clean the quilt and they both recommended something called \"Restoration\" that will remove most stains and yellowing. I did not want to try it but will leave that up to the buyer. I tryto describe my items as best I can. Please view the photos as part of the description.
