A piece of historybest describes these antique vintage 1880\'s Victorian boxes.Came out of a local dry goods store that closed in the late 1890\'s, early 1900\'s.Bag reads \"2 POUNDS EXTRA FINE EAGLE BRAND GRANULATED SUGAR / H & E / SUPERIOR QUALITY / TRADE MARK REGISTERED / REFINED BY HAVEMEYERS & ELDER / NEW YORK / WEIGHT AND PURITY GUARANTEED. The back is plain as shown. Thiscould date as early as 1863 or could be a little newer, but not anynewer than 1900. HAVEMEYERS & ELDER was one of the most important sugar companies ever. There\'s a lot of history connected withthis company and its owners. A great and unique display piece. The bagisempty. very interesting history !!! Please note the following item specifics:
