Antique Wind Up Toy FrogLithographed TinMade in GermanyThis charming antique wind up toy measures a generous 4 3/8\" long x 2 1/2\" wide (not including the key) x 2 1/4\" high. The bottom is marked Made in Germany, but the maker mark only shows \"ang\" (twice, stacked), and the beginning of the word is not visible. I have not been able to find any Germany toy maker that would fit that name? This piece is pre WWII, possibly from the 1930\'s or earlier.This adorable gal winds up nicely and has great jumping action. Check out the last photo to see a screen shot I took of a video of the frog jumping. She has all four feet off the ground! The frog goes about 3 to 4 jumps per gentle wind up and makes a classic wind up sound before going airborne.There is some rust behind the rear legs and on the unpainted side of the legs. Also a few very minor scratches towards the very back. Generally this wonderful creature is in excellent antique condition. I have never seen another wind up frog like this remarkable survivor, with great graphics, beautiful color, large size and remarkable action. She would be an awesome addition to any collection!
