Antique WWI-Era 1914 Military Trench Watch Sterling Silver ~ Porcelain Dial 33mm:
$350.00

For your consideration is this solid Sterling Silver Military-style watch. The case is fully hallmarked, and dates to 1914. The movement is in excellent condition and keeps great time. The hands move freely with no sticking points. The porcelain dial has no cracks, chips, or other imperfections. There is very minimal paint loss to the numbers as shown in our high-resolution photographs. The watch case measures 35.3cm including the crown and 33cm in diameter not including the crown. The glass crystal is in excellent condition as well with no noticeable damage or imperfections. There is a small dented area on the back of the case, which was a product of the makers marks being stamped in the case (not damage). This is shown in great detail in the third picture. There is no makers mark as this was a Swiss import, but the \"GS\" stamp was used by \"George Stockwell\" and is a \"Sponsor\'s Mark\" as apposed to a makers mark. The English date stamp shows the case was made in 1914, while the use of \"925\" instead of a lion passant generally used on English Sterling means the case was a British import piece and stamped as such to guarantee purity. It also has a London \"Town Mark\" further signifying it was an imported piece.
The only text I could find on the movement is the typical lettering for advancing and retarding the timing as well as \"Swiss Made\" written beneath the upper left movement gears. The brown Alligator strap is not original and is in excellent condition. Overall, this watch is a solid 9.5 out of 10, and is in extremely good condition for a nearly 115-year-old timepiece that may have seen use in at least one war. It has NOT been cleaned, so the sterling case would shine much brighter than shown in our photos. I\'d be happy to do this at the completion of the sale, but I know some collectors like original patina and subdued sterling. I guarantee this description to be accurate, and the watch to keep time or your money back. This is a fine timepiece that\'s still priced to wear. United States shipping only, unless you contact me prior to purchase.
