You are offerding on an Antique Real Photo Postcard! This item is being sold by a private collector.

The postcard is from WWI and is of a dead soldier on a boat or raft. It is possible he was a casualty of an explosion that occurred on the USS Manley in 1918. He is not identified.

The RPPC is from the estate of Admiral Francis c. Denebrink.

Admiral Francis C. Denebrink (1896-1987) was a naval officer in WWI & WWII & the Korean War. He was responsible for the logistic support of all United States naval forces. In World War I he served on the destroyer Warrington, based at Queenstown, Ireland, and Brest, France. For 12 years after the war he alternated between sea and land duty. In World War II, Admiral Denebrink, in command of the cruiser Brooklyn, which was on the scene when the American transport Wakefield, formerly the passenger liner Manhattan, caught fire Sept. 3, 1942, on her way from Europe to New York. He directed the rescue of all 1,500 men aboard the burning ship.

This item comes from a smoke-free home and is in excellent condition. There is no writing or postage on the back. Please see photos for details.
