1907 WATERMAN\'SIDEAL MODEL 0514
This hard to find gold fill filigree overlay vintage eye-dropper filling fountain pen was made by Waterman in 1907.The eyedropper filling system was used by Waterman up to 1928 and the gold fill Art Nouveau overlay Filigree pattern (earlier than the Basketweave pattern) was produced in both a gold and sterling silver finish. The gold fill is overlaid on hard rubber with the far end of the barrel clear of overlay for cap placement when using the pen. The model number “0514” is engraved at the very bottom of the barrel and at the top of the barrel overlay are the words “Waterman’s Ideal Fountain Pen.” The pen has a personalized engraving of “NYSC 1857-1907”. The nib is a 14K gold Waterman’s Ideal nib and reads“Waterman’s Ideal New York”. The condition is very good with some minor age wear and the pen measures 5 ¼” with the cap on.
